I'LL MAKE THIS REAL SIMPLE AND AVOID GETTING CAUGHT UP IN A RANT! THE ANSWER IS SIMPLE RIGHT?
So many would say the sprinter right? At least I have seen many other fitness pro's abuse photos like the one above to say that the sprinter image is a superior image of health. In my opinion the sprinter has a much more appealing image, but that image has nothing to do with performance or health! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.
The guy on the left is a marathon runner and the guy on the right is a sprinter. They are both great athletes built to perform for their sport. There is no advantage to being a 13 14 stone rock when running marathon distances. There is also no advantage to being a 10 11 stone stick when smashing an explosive 10 or 20 second sprint.
When you physically train and fuel the human body it responds, it adapts and it conquers. Specific sports have specific focused requirements. For example, 10 second 20 second sprints maybe useful along with traditional olympic lifts but a marathon runner needs to run long distances. H.I.I.T (high intensity interval training does it's job but the miles still need to be racked up).
If you see images like this I encourage you to not get drawn in. The headline for the above picture should be, "which body is better for bodybuilding?"
It's too easy to judge a book by it's cover. I hope I have stretched your thoughts.
