"What I most love about kickboxing is the calmness I feel and the creativity in out smarting an opponent".

Part 8- New me!
My coach Phil must have read last weeks blog because today he made me a super aggressive beast! I ate his punches and kicks with a furiousity I never knew I had. His punches and kicks bounced off me and I closed down his space like Ivan Drago Vs Apollo Creed in Rocky 4! I was rock solid and then he caught me with a sharp jab to the solar plex..."f.......uuuuuuudgggeeeeeeeee, I said". More in anger that I allowed his shot to take me briefly off my Drago like focus.
Big improvements! Two weeks ago I was fragile and delicate. I can thank my coach Phil, wife Alice and old oak cricket stump for getting me to this point of conditioning. Every day I get hit by a solid cricket stump to the weaker areas of my body to toughen up. It paid off! I felt almost invincible.
Next was fighters fitness. Five brutal rounds that went on what felt like forever with a small 30 second breather between. Roundhouse kicks and extreme burpees to kick my work rate up. I was so close to crying like a baby when Phil decided to hit me and urge me to switch on beast mode! "RAH, RAH, RAH, RAH", at the top of my voice whilst destroying the kick bag with intent. "BURPEES NOW" (Phil's voice) me super hyped and mega aggressive shouting, "1...2...I'm the best....4", (forgot 3 was next). Man I felt pushed beyond limits that I have never even imagined possible. When it was through I felt sick. Time for fresh air and a motivational lesson from Phil on fighting mindset.
Back to it and onto recovery time. I had to get myself together with breathing focus and movement stretching.
We ended on an almighty high! I did some light kick punch combo work and sparked a few spinning heel kicks. SUCCESS! I'm on my way.
My confidence, aggressiveness, conditioning and skills are going through the roof.
I will not get ahead of myself. I have alot to do but I'm excited with whom I'm becoming.
December is my time to showcase all the hardwork I have put in. My first kickboxing fight in over 15 years or so.
New challenges next week! Upping my game all the time.
A massive thank you to Phil, Alice and my cricket stump for getting me this far.
