Jumping spinning kicks and back fists, controlled sparring, and amazing flowing kicking balance work.
I'M BUZZING OFF MY ROCKER!
It's fair to say I have got the the bug. Today was groundbreaking for me. I started like an elephant and ended like a ballet princess with sweaty hairy legs.
I was put to the test today by my coach Phil. My coaches conditioning methods are helping me become a relaxed confident fighter. It's amazing what you're capable of when you learn to relax under pressure.
Today I had the pleasure of training with Ash, the front kick master! Ash was a great sparring partner. Every now and then I accidentally missed my mark and caught him in the goolies. Ash was very patient and controlled with his response.
My highlight today...
Me: pow pow (finally getting the spin and kick correct!)
Phil, "YES!!!!" (with a big smile and nod)
Me: (slight nod and refocus. My way of trying to take his compliments gracefully so I can prepare to deliver more).
I look forward to every session!!!! It's so important that I stay organized to keep up this top progress.
We are booked in for next Saturday and I have my kick flow balance and rotational jump kick homework to do.
We are already soon to confirm my first fight date. It will be my first kick boxing match up in almost 16 years! This time it's different. Mentally I'm more ready than ever!
