Am I ready for this....where I only had 4 weeks to prepare for the biggest run of my life.
"So this is my second attempt. The first time I failed because I was unprepared and I underestimated what the challenge was capable of doing to my body. After 26 miles I could not go on. I was a crumbling mess with a badly damaged foot and on the edge of hypothermia. This time it's different, I have changed my lifestyle and as a by product, surprise suprise, I feel in the mood to do what I never did before. I'm eating, sleeping, resting, recovering and working at probably the best level I have ever experienced.
Today was a great start. I woke up tired but content and ready to get going. Up at 5.10am I felt a little sore so I got on my magical foam roaller and released key trigger points. Don't need any injuries!!! I planned to focus on this challenge for 3.5 hours this morning. If you are wondering why this specific amount, it's just part of my trial and error plan. Obviously with some educated calculations!
I have left myself just 4 weeks to get ready for the biggest run of my life. I had to make extremely tough choices that affected others, I had to make those choices for me. It's no good killing yourself off for others that don't appreciate you and make your life difficult. I have made a career so far out of helping others and alot of the time it's been at the cost of putting others before me. Why is this relevant to day one of this blog? With out my brave difficult decision making my 2nd attempt would have had a higher chance of failure. Change is the key for more success. Even if I get further than 26 miles this time, it's a step closer and back to the drawing board".
